Love Yesterday

Okay so lets introduce Love Yesterday......

Hello ladies, heres the first post to my new blog. Thought I would start with a little introduction and let you know a little bit about me and what I am going to feature in ' Love Yesterday'.

Firstly Im Lauren, a newly married 29 year old ( almost 30) lady with a real love of vintage fashion and all things pretty and reminiscent of the past. I tend to buy vintage inspired clothing or the very reason that I can look for the style I want and will almost always get my size. I have got a few genuine vintage articles however which I love and if I had more time/money/patience I would certainly be on the hunt for articles that are the real deal much more often. I do however believe that some of the Uk clothing designers out there do a fabulous job of replicating the beautiful styles of bygone eras. So much so that I have started my own own-line vintage inspired clothing boutique Love Yesterday. The store should be open in the next month.

A little bit about myself before I tell you what Im going to feature on Blog:

* I live in Bonny Scotland where it rains probably 320 days of the year- I however have learned to love the bad weather and think that my love of clothing is derived from the fact that I need to wear lots of garments a lot of the time.
* I have a beautiful 8 year old boy called Shay who loves Back to the Future, Mario, Roald Dahl and Chelsea Whoppers- even he knows the best things come from the good old days.

* Always had an obession with clothes - especially classic, timeless items that you can keep in your wardrobe for years. I tend to choose style over fashion and think women should pick clothes that flatter their figure rather than follow trends that dont do them justice.

* Attracted to polka dots and floral prints and my favorite colour is red and peach.

* Love music especially The Beatles. More on this later I have a great post relating to this.

* Icons, inspiration - I know its sounds so cliche but my biggest inspiration comes from my two favourite ladies ever my mum Linda and my little gran Betty. My Mum has always encouraged me to look back at fashion trends of the past and pick out classic styles for my wardrobe and my little Grannie Betty was a local pin up girl for Scottish national newspaper the Daily Record back in the 40s. I used to look at her old photos and wish I too could grow up and be a pretty and fabulously dressed as this gorgeous woman .

I have a real interest in fabulous ladies that paved the way for classic timeless fashion: Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Jean Harlow,Marilyn Monroe, Betty Page, Diana Dors, Betty Grable, Elizabeth Taylor,Betty Davis, Sophia Loren, Twiggy. I could go on forever more but you get the idea classic beauties with the most fabulous clothes and a sense of fun and femininty.

Well thats enough about me Im sure you will learn more as I go along. Heres what I'm going to feature :

• Vintage Inspired clothing -fashions taking a leaf from the beautiful decades of the past.  In the near future I am opening my own on-line shop ' Love Yesterday  Boutique which will sell beautiful  vintage inspired clothing from some of the best designers in the Uk and America specialising in this .Love Yesterday aims to bring unique and great fitting clothes for the everyday lady to make them feel special : a bit like an old hollywood starlet.  In the meantime I will do my best to source the most beautiful vintage inspired styles out there for your perusal. And as soon as the store opens its doors I will let you know. Heres some of my stock I have already

Im very excited about this one because my favourite past time is looking at old photography and film of beautiful film stars, actresses, musicians and icons. I'm going to look at how these ladies rocked their decade and how we can mimick their style. Please get in touch if there is any of your style icons you would like me to feature.
